I completed my M. A. in Counseling Psychology and spent a number of years working in the mental health field before turning my attention to creative writing. I am the author of two books: a novel titled Tomato Girl, published by Algonquin Books in 2008, and a full length collection of poems titled Forms of Intercession, published by Mayapple Press, also in 2008. My poems and short fiction have been included in several anthologies and numerous literary journals, both online and in print. My work has received multiple nominations for the Pushcart Prize.

I have participated in a number of writing groups, both online and in person.. I enjoy interacting with aspiring writers.

Animals have been a lifelong passion. I currently share my home with a number of pets, including three poodles, one rescued mutt, a cat, five parrots, a tortoise, bearded dragon, and serveral small animals, including rats.
